Winter is the season when nature goes into hibernation: everything slows down, the climate cools and days become shorter. Gardening and cultivation activities are temporarily halted and this provides an ideal opportunity to do some machinery maintenance.
Steps to be taken
Two wheel tractors, rotary tillers and transporters are machines designed to work in extreme conditions and provide long-term durability. They don’t require much maintenance, but we recommend performing some periodic checks and simple servicing to keep them in perfect condition.
- Topping up the oils is essential for proper lubrication of the vehicles: you need to periodically check both the engine oil (which must always be fully topped up) and the filter oil.
- Cleaning and lubricating the plastic parts (pipes, gaskets and bodywork) is also important, not for aesthetic reasons, but to check for wear and tear and prolong the life of the various components. You can purchase protective products that, when used periodically, increase the productivity and service life of the machinery.
- Sharpening blades and cutting parts on the mulcher or cutterbar is very important, especially if you use your machine for tilling heavy soil or cutting grass; the machines rely not only on mechanical force but also precision, because every blade of grass should be cut rather than torn. Perform proper maintenance annually in the case of tilling blades, or periodically based on use, in the case of cutterbars.
- The tyre pressure also needs checking to ensure perfect balance and traction; remember that larger machines such as two wheel tractors require special attention to keep them well anchored to the ground.
Do you need an expert?
Over the years, Nibbi has invested in specific training and a nationwide network of specialist dealers and service centres. As a result, customers can always find someone to help them keep their machine working efficiently for many years. The service centres receive special training on how best to maintain the machinery and stock original components in case parts need to be replaced. It is advisable to bring your machinery in for servicing at least every two years for a full check-up and to have the components and engine cleaned.
